The Lull of the Dark Flame comic is LIVE! Discover fresh Axie lore featuring Nio, and check out featured community members’ axies in the story! There’s even an opportunity to spotlight YOUR axie at the end of the comic through the Nightmare Nexus challenge. Here’s what’s happening:
Six months ago, we released a trailer featuring Nio’s descent into the Nightmarescape. Today, she returns to this dark dream world for a battle that will change her forever – but she’s not alone this time. The Lull of the Dark Flame features seven axies belonging to lucky Lunacians who stacked the most tickets during last November’s Nightmare Raffle. See them in action here:
Want to see YOUR axies in the Nightmarescape as well? Open the comic and look for the Nightmare Nexus Challenge banner. We’ll auto-generate a photo, which you can share on socials for a chance to earn $AXS rewards in the Nightmare Nexus Challenge.
Take home juicy rewards by sharing a photo of your axie in the Nightmarescape on socials. There’s over 1,000 $AXS up for grabs, and only two-hundred Lunacians will be able to win. Follow these steps to enter:
Step 1: Open the comic and look for the Nightmare Nexus Challenge banner
Step 2: Select “Get Started” and a modal will pop-up
Step 3: Enter your axie’s ID in the field, then click generate
Step 4: Share your photo on X using the hashtag #NightmareSnap and tag @axieinfinityNote: if you own multiple axies and make several posts, we’ll only count your latest one.

What’s in the airdrop:
• If you evolved 2-6 Nightmare-eligible parts, you’ll receive Bloodmaw – a Common Cheek accessory
• If you who evolved seven or more Nightmare-eligible parts, you’ll receive Eyewyrm – a Rare Flying accessory
Who can qualify: Anyone who evolves at least two Level 1 parts into Nightmare parts between November 21st, 2024 at 12:00 UTC and June 5th, 2025 will receive at least one accessory. Buying a Nightmare axie will not count towards qualification.

Today’s release of the Lull of the Dark Flame breathes new life into our digital nation’s history through the Nightmarescape, and introduces a few fun ways to earn extra rewards. This is just the beginning of a new dimension in Lunacian lore. Remember: Within the flames of Atia, dreams can come true. But never forget that Nightmares are dreams, too!
Q: Does buying a Nightmare axie count?
A: No, the only way to qualify is by evolving at least two Level 1 parts into Nightmare parts.
Q: What happens if an axie owner begins a slow evolution, but transfers or sells the evolving axie to another address before the evolution is complete? Who would be eligible for the airdrop?
A: In this case, the evolution would count towards the original owner’s eligibility for the airdrop.
Q: Does the evolution to a Nightmare part have to be successful to be considered for the airdrop?
A: Yes, only successful Nightmare evolutions will be counted towards the airdrop qualification. If you evolve Nightmare-eligible parts but did not get Nightmare parts, this evolution will not count towards the airdrop qualification.
Q: Will I be eligible for Airdrop 2 if I evolved my axie during the Wings of Nightmare event before this announcement?
A: Yes, all evolutions between November 21st, 2024 at 12:00 UTC and June 5th will count. If you evolved at least two Nightmare-eligible parts into Nightmare parts between these dates, you have qualified for Airdrop 2. Evolve more to secure new limited Nightmare accessories!
