The Sandbox Awards is an annual event established to honor creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the metaverse platform. Originating as a community-driven initiative called ‘Sandies’, the awards were revamped in 2024 to introduce more formal recognition whilst retaining the focus on community voting.
Participants submit their projects, which are then evaluated through votes cast by community members, ensuring that the winners reflect the preferences of The Sandbox’s users.
This year’s expanded format included 20 categories, celebrating a wide variety of experiences, from action-adventure games to resource management simulators. The awards highlight the global participation and creativity of The Sandbox’s ecosystem, acknowledging contributions from creators across multiple countries.

The awards spotlighted creators from across the globe, with winners hailing from countries such as China, Taiwan, Thailand, France, and Argentina.
Chinese studio Lululand’s Serenity won Best Action/Adventure Experience, Best Art Direction, and Best Experience of the Year. In the Best Puzzle Experience category, Taiwan’s ERM Labs received recognition for The Great Pyramid of Giza, which explores the mysteries of the iconic Egyptian monument whilst Thailand’s Sandja secured wins in five categories, including Best Shooter Experience (Cosmic Chaos) and Best Narrative (The Little Prince and The Magic Whale).
