From June 13th to 15th, we were live at the Lagos Poker Festival, one of the most talked-about events in the city’s poker scene. Held at the Nordic Hotel in Victoria Island, it was a weekend of sharp suits, big bets, and great conversations, and we were right in the middle of it.

As one of the festival’s sponsors, Busha shared the stage with other top brands like Providus Bank, BetNaija, ValueJet, and Bature Brewery. It wasn’t just about poker; it was about connecting with business leaders, investors, and creators who enjoy strategy and understand value, both on and off the table.

We introduced more people to Busha Business, our solution for fast, secure, and easy crypto payments for individuals and businesses. And while the poker tables were hot, our conversations off the table were even more exciting.

Meeting the right people

We had the opportunity to meet and chat with some fascinating individuals, including founders, investors, and professionals who are doing exceptional work across various industries.

One of the highlights of the weekend was meeting Kevin Conroy, co-founder of Bature Brewery, who ultimately won the tournament two years in a row. We caught some great photo moments with him that helped put a fresh spotlight on Busha’s brand.

How we showed up

You couldn’t miss us. From flagpoles and roll-up banners to LED-lit cubes glowing at the after-party, our setup kept Busha visible all through the event.

We weren’t just there to show face,  we came with intention. Conversations that started casually during poker breaks evolved into deeper discussions about business, cryptocurrency, and how Busha can help facilitate the movement of value more easily.

What we noticed

The main poker tournament kept most attendees focused on gameplay, so there was limited room for one-on-one chats at first. But that changed on Day 3 during the after-party, where the vibe was more relaxed and people were open to talking.

It was here that we had some of our most meaningful exchanges, the kind that doesn’t feel like a pitch, but a conversation.

A look at the weekend

Here are some moments we captured from the event:

A few moments from the Lagos Poker Festival

Each photo tells a small part of the story – the people we met, the energy in the room, and how Busha showed in style.

What this means for you

For us, this wasn’t just another event. It was an opportunity to learn, meet new people, and discover new ways to grow and develop. It also gave us ideas for how to show up even better next time — and how to bring Busha Business to the spaces and people that truly need it.

We’re excited about what’s ahead, and we’ll continue to show up where the real conversations are happening.

Final Note:

If you attended the Lagos Poker Festival and came across the Busha team, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. And if you’re curious about how Busha Business can support you or your company, we’re always ready to talk.
