On June 20th, the Busha team headed to Ibadan for the OyoKopa Conference, our first big event outside Lagos. It was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, and brought together over 6,000 youth corps members from all parts of Nigeria.

We came prepared to do two things: discuss crypto with you and make it understandable. But more importantly, we wanted to connect with you in a way that felt fun, genuine, and worthwhile.

You probably saw the Busha-branded water bottles first

We distributed 4,000 bottles of Busha-branded water throughout the venue. For us, this wasn’t just about staying hydrated; it was about starting conversations. All around the conference centre, you’d see people sipping, chatting, and asking, “What’s Busha all about?”

And that was the goal: to get your attention and earn a few minutes of your time.

Scan to Win

On each bottle, we added a QR code for a fun activity called Scan to Win. Once you’ve scanned, you could take part in a quick online challenge. We saw hundreds of people scanning, playing, and sharing it with friends. It was fun and gave everyone a chance to engage with the brand in a chill, easy way.

Our Stage Moment: Bitcoin or Cash?

We also had a moment on stage to explain Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA), but not in a boring way.

We invited two corps members up and asked them a simple question: Would you take ₦100,000 in cash now, or ₦10,000 in Bitcoin every day for 10 days?

They both chose Bitcoin. The crowd reacted with laughs, cheers, and questions. And just like that, the idea behind DCA made sense to many who had never thought about it before.

It wasn’t a lecture. It was just real-life learning through action, the kind that sticks.

We hit the streets (Vox Pop Style)

What’s a good event without some street-style interviews? We went around with a microphone and camera, asking real people real questions about cryptocurrency, saving money, and their first impressions of Busha.

The answers? Honest, funny, and sometimes surprising.

What we learned from being in Ibadan

The truth? Showing up matters. Many of you had never heard of Busha before that day. Some had heard the name, but never knew what we do. This event gave us a chance to connect, explain things simply, and make crypto feel less like a mystery.

We also learned a few things ourselves. When we do this again, and we will, we will come with more merch, bigger activation points, and even more ways to help you understand how crypto can work for you.

This was just the beginning

OyoKopa Conference was special because it showed us what’s possible. You gave us your time, your questions, your laughs, and we don’t take that for granted.

We’re already thinking about the next stop, the next city, and the next opportunity to connect with you.

Thanks for rocking with us, Ibadan. And to all the corp members we met, this is just the start.
