The Wings of Nightmare is LIVE! Many Lunacians are about to face their fears, while others will soon conquer them. However, only a brave few will EMBRACE them by evolving Nightmare Parts during the Wings of Nightmare. Step into Atia’s flame on App.axie — and become the darkness within. Here’s what’s happening in the Wings of Nightmare:
The Lunacian Dream World can only be entered through sleep. The ancient sapidae scholars referred to it as Lunacia’s Subconsciousness. It’s a realm built on imagination and whose makeup has fascinated the Helios alchemists ever since their arrival on the planet. Ancient Lunacians believed that the Dream World was once a place of pure goodness, having sprung from the gentle mind of the goddess Noma.
It is believed that the realm fractured into the Dreamscape and the Nightmarescape when Noma’s descendant, the god Atia’s, corrupt memories drove him into madness. If you dare to enter the Nightmarescape, just remember, you may come back transformed… or you may never come back at all.
The Nightmarescape is a dark and ominous section of the Dream World that can also only be entered through sleep. It’s full of dangerous, unimaginable foes that could never survive in the physical realms of Lunacia. They thrive on chaos and the fear, anxiety, and darkness of Lunacians’ minds, making them very difficult to defeat and nearly impossible to kill.
There are endless species of Nightmare flora, lunids, and noctids, that only the bravest (and most curious!) of Lunacian scientists enter the Nightmarescape to document and study. There is still much to discover about this mysterious realm, for many that enter, never return. Like all of Lunacia, this ominous place can reward brave axies, who dare to enter, with special parts, and items with ever-mysterious effects. Be careful to never get caught in the clutches of her lullaby, for you may end up in your deepest inescapable nightmare.
Lunacians around the world can now enter the Nightmarescape through App.axie and evolve select base parts into Stage 2 Nightmare Parts! Earlier this month, we shared details including new part art, probabilities, instructions, and more. Today, everything went LIVE. Evolve your base parts into Nightmare parts. Devolve your Stage 2 parts for a chance to get a Nightmare body. Earn prizes by reaching Nightmare Evolution milestones first. Here’s a recap on how it works:
If your axie has one of these base parts, you have a chance of getting a Nightmare part. However, Nightmare parts have a supply cap of 39,000 — so the opportunity won’t be there forever! Follow the instructions below to get started:
Step 1: Make sure your axie has 1 of the 24 base parts eligible for a Nightmare Evolution.
Step 2: Gather the required Evolution materials.
This includes AXS for the Evolution Fee and Mementos for the Evolution. There are no special materials required for a Nightmare Part Evolution.
Step 3: Go to App.axie and click “Evolve.”
Step 4: Choose “Instant Evolution” to see your parts right away, or wait for the normal evolution to complete in 96 hours!
Step 5: If you want to challenge yourself to obtain Nightmare Body. Go to your axie with a nightmare part and use “dark flame” consumable.
Note: Every Nightmare Part Devolution has a 5% chance of transforming that axie’s body into a Nightmare Body. Part Devolution instant. If your axie’s body stays the same after the Nightmare Part Devolution, return to Step 1.
The Wings of Nightmare is Axie Core’s biggest release since Part Evolution. It enables regular axies to become collectibles, and will soon make Part Devolution possible. That also means many Nightmare axies will make their debut in the Origins arena over the next few weeks. Let’s keep pushing!
